Butterfly Creek

We have visited Butterfly Creek a number of times. It is out near the airport and it does what it says on the tin.

The main attraction of the place is a hot, humid area where butterflies flutter freely about. Zoe was a bit disappointed that not many butterflies landed on her.
Out side the butterfly area is a new area with crocodiles.

We were outside for a picnic lunch and after this there was a release of new butterflies. This time Zoe was able to get one to sit on her, but she became concerned that no matter what she did it would not leave her. A kind lady helped to remove the butterfly which then flew off.

The next activity was petting rabbits at the farm.

Then Grandma, Emily and I went to the crocodile display. Two men entered the crocodile enclosure. The first croc could not be bothered. But the second took the bate of fresh, dead rat. Emily sat still throughout and joined in the cheering as the rat was consumed.

At the same time Sally and Zoe walked down the road to the crazy golf. I drove down and met them just as they were leaving the golf. This worked well for both children and they were happy to potter around the house before tea.

After tea Irene and I took a stroll down towards the cliffs at Glover Park. We like the view from there. Unfortunately it was quite a cool wind and we did not stay as long as we would have liked.
